QUEZON — Nadiskubre ang mahigit 16.7 milyong pisong halaga ng cocaine sa baybayin ng bayan ng Patnanungan,dahilan para magsagawa ng malawakang imbestigasyon ang Quezon Provincial Police Office (QPPO).

Base sa report ng pulisya, dakong alas 6:00 ng gabi nang makita ng isang concerned citizen ang tatlong plastic bag na may lamang puting crystalline substance sa Sitio Katakian Munti, Brgy. Busdak.

Agad itong inireport sa mga awtoridad at sa isinagawang pagsusuri ng forensic unit, nakumpirma na ang laman ng mga pakete ay cocaine hydrochloride na isang high-value illegal drug.

Tumitimbang ang mga nakuhang coccaine ng mahigit 3.1 kilos at tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng nasa 16,718,585.00 million pesos.

Ayon kay Quezon Police Provincial Director PCOL Romulo Albacea, patuloy ang kanilang masusing imbestigasyon upang matukoy ang pinagmulan ng kontrabando at ang mga posibleng sangkot dito.

Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin ang pulisya sa maritime units at intelligence operatives upang alamin kung bahagi ito ng mas malaking shipment o konektado sa international drug syndicates na gumagamit ng karagatan bilang daanan ng iligal na droga.

Tiniyak naman ng Quezon PPO na paiigtingin pa ang operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga sa lalawigan.
