CALABARZON — APAT na tao ang naitalang nasawi sa magkakahiwalay na insidente ng pagkalunod sa rehiyon ng CALABARZON nitong Semana Santa, ayon sa inisyal na ulat ng Philippine National Police, habang lima namang mangingisda ang matagumpay na nasagip ng Philippine Coast Guard sa karagatang sakop ng Batangas.
Sa bayan ng Tiaong Quezon, isang 38-anyos na lalaki ang nalunod matapos tangkaing kunin ang tsinelas ng kanyang anak na inanod ng agos sa Mabilog River.
Natagpuan ang biktima na wala nang malay at idineklarang dead on arrival sa ospital.
Sa Magdalena Laguna, isa ring lalaki ang nasawi matapos matagpuang hindi na gumagalaw sa ilalim ng tubig sa Balanac Dam. Dinala pa sa pagamutan ngunit idineklara na itong walang buhay.
Sa Mabini Batangas, nasawi ang isang 48-anyos na dive master matapos mahirapang huminga habang sumisisid.
Ayon sa imbestigasyon, humingi pa ito ng tulong habang nasa dagat ngunit nawalan ng malay at hindi na naisalba.
Samantala, sa Lemery Batangas isang lalaki ang nalunod sa isang beach resort noong Linggo ng Pagkabuhay.
Patuloy pang inaalam ang detalye ng insidente.
Sa hiwalay na pangyayari, limang mangingisda ang ligtas na nasagip ng Philippine Coast Guard matapos masiraan ng makina ang kanilang bangka dahil sa malalakas na alon sa karagatan malapit sa Batangas City.
Ayon sa Coast Guard, agad na rumesponde ang kanilang tauhan at tiniyak na ligtas ang mga mangingisda matapos silang matulungan ng isang dumaraang bangka.
Muli namang nagpaalala ang mga awtoridad sa publiko na mag-ingat sa paglangoy, lalo na sa malalalim na bahagi ng ilog at dagat, at iwasan ang pagligo kung nakainom o hindi bihasa sa paglangoy upang maiwasan ang kapahamakan.
