CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA — In a move aimed at accelerating public service and easing the burden on elderly residents, Calamba City has officially begun the early release of the first-quarter social pension for senior citizens, with distribution kicking off in Barangay Canlubang.


Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal personally led the rollout, ensuring that the financial assistance reaches beneficiaries efficiently and without delay. The initiative forms part of the city government’s proactive response to ongoing economic challenges affecting vulnerable sectors.


“Mas pinaaga, mas mabilis na serbisyo para sa ating mga nakatatanda | Early Release ng 1st Quarter Social Pension para sa lahat ng Senior Citizen,” the mayor announced.


“Opisyal nang nagsimula ngayong araw ang maagang release ng First Quarter Social Pension para sa ating mga Senior Citizen. Ngayon araw, tayo ay nasa Barangay Canlubang upang tiyakin na maayos at maipapamahagi agad ang tulong na ito sa ating mga benepisyaryo.”


“Ang hakbang na ito ay bahagi ng ating agarang pagtugon sa kasalukuyang kinakaharap na krisis, upang kahit papaano ay maibsan ang pangangailangan ng ating mga lolo at lola. Patuloy tayong magsusumikap na maihatid ang serbisyong may malasakit, lalo na sa mga sektor na higit na nangangailangan.”


Local officials noted that the early disbursement is designed to provide immediate relief to senior citizens, many of whom rely on quarterly pensions to cover essential needs such as food, medicine, and daily expenses.


The city government reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing social welfare programs, particularly for the elderly, as it continues to strengthen responsive and compassionate governance at the grassroots level.
