CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The Calamba City Police Station has successfully cleared all backlogged index crimes, reaching what officials describe as a rare and noteworthy milestone for a fast-growing urban center.


PLTCOL Dennis De Guzman, Chief of Police of Calamba, shared the development with a mix of pride and optimism:


“We reached ZERO—and yes, nakakatuwa din pala magka-bokya.”
“As of 5:00 PM today, April 16, Calamba City Police Station has solved/cleared all backlogged Index Crimes—a rare milestone for a bustling city like ours.”


“This reflects the teamwork, persistence, and dedication of our investigators and follow-up units.”
“Just as important is the daily grind of our patrollers, whose efforts kept focus crimes low and allowed investigators to concentrate on cold cases.”


“One key innovation: our patrollers are now directly involved in investigating crimes within their beat. They know the ground best, and we expect them to step up—from patrollers to thinking cops—guided by their higher education and regular trainings.”


“This zero may not last—this is Calamba, where growth and activity bring constant challenges. But we are confident that our crime prevention and investigation system works.”

The achievement underscores a coordinated strategy within the police force, emphasizing both proactive patrol operations and deeper investigative involvement at the ground level. Officials acknowledged that maintaining a zero backlog may be challenging given Calamba’s rapid urban growth and increasing population. However, they expressed confidence that the systems and reforms currently in place will sustain low crime rates and faster case resolution moving forward.
