QUEZON — Sinuyod ng mga operatiba ng Lucena NBI-LUCDO at mga tauhan ng Provincial Mining and Regulatory Board (PMRB) ang ilang bahagi ng paanan ng Mt Banahaw at lagnas river na sakop ng bayan ng Sariaya kaugnay ng napapaulat na may mga nagsasagawa pa rin ng quarrying operations sa kabila ng may moratorium na umiiral mula sa pamahalaang panlalawigan.
Ayon kay NBI-LUCDO District Chief Atty Ely Tolentino nagkoordinasyon sa kanilqng tanggapan ang PMRB hinggil sa mga impormasyon na tuloy tuloy pa rin ang iligal na operasyon ng quarry sa naturang bayan sa kabila ng matagal na itong ipinatigil ng lokal na pamahalaan at ng pamahalaang panlalawigan.
Sa isinagawang inspection ng NBI at PMRB sa naturang lugar ay wala naman silang nakita at naaktuhan na nagsasagawa ng operasyon ng quarry sa paanan ng bundok.
Gayunpaman sa kanilang isinagawang inspection sa ilang ilog ng nasabing bayan ay may mga nakita at naaktuhaan ang mga awtoridad na nagsasagawa ng extraction ng buhangin na ipinagbabawal din.
Mabilis na nakatakbo at nagsitakas ang ilang kalalakihan na nagsasagawa ng iligal na pagkuha sa ilog ng graba at buhangin matapos na makita ng mga ito ang paparating na sasakyan ng mga operatiba naiwanan ng mga nagsitakas ang ilang gamit at isang tricycle na kolon-kolong gamit pangkarga sa nakukuhang graba at buhangin.
Kaugnay nito ay agad nakipag ugnayan ang NBI at PMRB sa mga opisyal ng barangay na nagpaalala at nagbabala na mahigpit ang ginagawang pagbabantay ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno sa mga iligal na quarrying operations sa naturang mga lugar na kung sinuman ang mahuhuli na lalabag ay may kaakibat na kaso at pagkakakulong.
