Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano met with members of the Sandigan ng mga Empleyadong Nagkakaisa sa Adhikain ng Demokratikong Organisasyon (S.E.N.A.D.O.) on Monday, June 8, 2026, in response to a request from the union, underscoring his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Senate employees.

During the meeting, union representatives raised concerns affecting rank-and-file Senate personnel, whom they said have been caught in the midst of the ongoing conflict between the Senate President and the opposing side.

Prior to the dialogue, Cayetano emphasized that protecting Senate employees from intimidation remains one of his priorities. He also clarified that he has no intention of pressuring Senate personnel to take his side, stressing instead that their loyalty should be to the truth and to the institution.

The meeting was attended by S.E.N.A.D.O. officers, including President Rosel Eugenio, Vice President Kara Hernandez, Secretary Ma. Cristina Poblete, Treasurer Jocelyn Tomarong, Sergeant-at-Arms Auditor Romnick De Los Reyes, and Board of Directors members Diony Gallano, Gralice Galang, Pedro Samaniego, Engr. Raul Cedo, and Nueva Gacutan.

Also present were Committee Officers Irene Sanchez, Alfred Esmilla, and Ms. Lery Bauzon, along with Jensen Barcelona, President of the Samahan at Ugnayan ng mga Casual at Contractual na Nagseserbisyo sa Senado (S.U.C.C.E.S.S.).

The meeting served as a venue for Senate employees’ representatives to directly convey their concerns while reaffirming the importance of safeguarding the welfare and rights of Senate personnel.
