CALAMBA CITY, Laguna โ€” The Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) of Calamba City has relieved two traffic law enforcers from their duties following the circulation of a video showing them allegedly escorting a private vehicle.

In an official statement, POSO clarified that Calamba City Mayor Roseller โ€œRossโ€ H. Rizal was not inside the vehicle seen in the viral video and emphasized that the escort operation was conducted without authorization or the knowledge of the agency and its officer-in-charge.

POSO released the following statement:

“Kaugnay ng kumakalat na video ng umano’y pag-escort ng aming mga traffic law enforcers sa isang sasakyan, nais naming linawin na hindi po si Calamba City Mayor Hon. Ross H. Rizal ang sakay ng naturang sasakyan.”

“Ang pag-escort ng dalawang (2) traffic law enforcers ay walang pahintulot at walang kaalaman ng Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) at ng aming Officer-in-Charge. Agad silang na-relieve sa kanilang tungkulin at isinailalim sa kaukulang imbestigasyon.”

“Humihingi po kami ng paumanhin sa mamamayan ng Calamba at kay Hon. Mayor Ross H. Rizal sa naging insidente. Nananatili ang aming pangako na pairalin ang disiplina, pananagutan, at propesyonal na serbisyo sa lahat.”

Authorities said an investigation is now underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to establish accountability.

POSO assured the public that appropriate actions will be taken against those responsible and reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline, accountability, and professional public service in Calamba City.
