LAGUNA — Tuluyan nang pinaselyuhan ng Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) ang discharge outlet ng Manila Water Company, Inc. (MWCI) na iniuugnay sa insidente ng malawakang fish killsa Laguna de Bay upang maiwasan ang anumang susunod na direktang pagpapakawala ng tubig sa lawa.

Ayon sa LLDA, isinagawa ang hakbang matapos pagpaliwanagin ang MWCI kaugnay ng napaulat na flushing operations.
Iginiit naman ng kompanya na bahagi lamang ito ng karaniwang paglilinis ng bagong submarine pipeline at hindi sewage ang inilabas na tubig.

Humingi rin ng paumanhin ang MWCI dahil sa kakulangan ng maagang koordinasyon bago isinagawa ang operasyon.

Kasunod nito, inatasan ng LLDA ang kompanya na ilipat ang mga susunod na flushing operations sa isang retention pond at tiyaking may maagang koordinasyon sa lahat ng kinauukulang ahensya at lokal na pamahalaan.
