Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been arrested in Indonesia, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The arrest took place in Tangerang City on September 3, 2024. Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, was apprehended at 11:58 p.m. local time.

The DOJ confirmed that Guo is currently in the custody of the Indonesian Police at Jatanras Mabes Polri. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts to bring her to justice for multiple charges, including qualified trafficking in persons, tax evasion, and money laundering.

Guo had managed to flee the Philippines in July despite an arrest order and her inclusion in the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO). She and her siblings reportedly escaped by boat, traveling through Malaysia before reaching Indonesia.

The DOJ is coordinating closely with Indonesian authorities to ensure all legal processes are followed to hold Guo accountable for her alleged crimes. This collaboration highlights the international effort to address serious criminal activities and ensure justice is served.
