Two Suspects Nabbed in Calamba Buy-Bust, ₱68,000 Worth of Shabu Seized

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Two individuals were arrested and illegal drugs worth an estimated ₱68,000 were confiscated during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Calamba City Police Station at around 12:26 p.m. on January 20, 2026, in Purok 1, Barangay Palo Alto, this city.

The suspects were identified as alyas Jessica, 32, a vegetable vendor and resident of Barangay Palo Alto, Calamba City, and alyas Nelson, 40, a farmer and resident of Barangay Burol, Calamba City. Both are single, high school graduates, and Roman Catholic.

Police said the operation was carried out under PDEA Coordination Control No. 4-00-01192026-042, leading to the arrest of the two suspects while allegedly selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.

Seized from Jessica were:
Four (4) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with a total estimated weight of more or less 10 grams and a standard drug price of ₱68,000
Three (3) ₱100 bills as recovered money,

One (1) black pouch
Recovered from Nelson was:
One (1) ₱500 bill with serial number BD8807372, used as buy-bust money
Authorities said the entire operation was documented using one (1) body-worn camera and one (1) alternative recording device to ensure transparency and proper procedure.

The suspects were informed of their Miranda Rights and the Anti-Torture Warning Act upon arrest.
They will face charges for violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Both suspects are currently under the custody of the Calamba City Police Station for documentation and inquest proceedings.

The operation and subsequent arrests were checked and confirmed by PLTCOL Dennis C. De Guzman, Officer-in-Charge of Calamba CCPS.
