Laguna Expands Free Maintenance Program; Sol Aragones Adds Clopidogrel, B-Complex in 24 Akay ni Gob Botika Branches

LAGUNA, Philippines — The Provincial Government of Laguna has expanded its free maintenance medicine program with the addition of Clopidogrel and B-Complex vitamins, now available in all 24 branches of Akay ni Gob Botika across the province starting February 25, 2026.

The expansion is being implemented under the leadership of Governor Sol Aragones as part of the province’s continuing efforts to make healthcare more accessible and affordable to Lagunenses.
Qualified residents may now claim Clopidogrel, a medicine commonly prescribed to heart patients, and B-Complex vitamins from any of the 24 botika locations. With the inclusion of the two new medicines, the Akay ni Gob Botika program now offers a total of six types of free maintenance medicines.

The program seeks to ease the financial burden of families who regularly allocate funds for maintenance medication, particularly senior citizens and individuals living with chronic illnesses. Provincial officials said the initiative is funded through taxpayers’ money to ensure that public funds are directly returned to constituents in the form of health assistance.

“Iniisip ko talaga ano yung mga paraan paano makakatulong sa ating mga kababayan,” Aragones said.

She also assured residents of her continued support for the program. “Hangga’t gobernador ako libre ang maintenance na gamot ninyo,” she added.

To ensure patient safety, the governor reminded residents that a valid prescription is required before medicines can be released. “Ang reseta kailangan po. Hindi po kami magbibigay ng reseta ito po ay para sure at safe po kayo,” she emphasized.

All 24 Akay ni Gob Botika branches have been fully stocked with the newly added medicines. Residents are advised to check the distribution schedules in their respective towns to conveniently avail of the free maintenance medicines.

With the strengthened program, the Provincial Government of Laguna continues to reinforce its commitment to improving public healthcare services and providing relief to thousands of families across the province.
