MANILA, Philippines — Former senator and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is weighing possible legal action against vlogger Norman Mangusin following allegations that the online personality accused Pacquiao of owing money and made disparaging remarks about his family.


In a recent statement, Pacquiao said his legal counsel is currently reviewing the cases that will be filed against Mangusin. The former lawmaker claimed that the vlogger publicly alleged that he had unpaid debts — an accusation Pacquiao strongly denied.

“May mga kaso akong isasampa sa kanya, hindi lang isa, but marami. Naka-prepare na lahat ‘yun, pati ‘yung mga ebidensy. Hindi ko pa nga na-meet itong taong ito. Gusto ko makita siya personally,” Pacquiao said.


Pacquiao also took exception to remarks made about his mother, Dionisia Pacquiao, saying that the vlogger’s statements crossed the line and were disrespectful.


“Hindi tama na magbintang ng walang basehan at bastusin ang aking ina,” Pacquiao said, emphasizing that while he is open to criticism as a public figure, dragging family members into controversy is unacceptable.


The boxing legend did not provide specific details on the exact charges being considered but indicated that his legal team is studying possible remedies under existing laws, which may include defamation-related complaints.
As of posting time, there has been no official response from Mangusin regarding Pacquiao’s statements.


The development underscores growing tensions between public figures and online content creators, amid increasing calls for accountability over allegations and commentary shared on social media platforms.
