Organized Transport Push Set for Bucal and Lamesa TODA with New Terminal Plan

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Efforts to improve local transportation gained momentum as Mayor Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal convened transport groups from Barangay Bucal and Barangay Lamesa to discuss solutions for a more efficient and organized commuting system.

The meeting brought together members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) to address key concerns affecting daily travel in the area, particularly in light of increasing development and traffic demand.

One of the major agreements reached was the establishment of a dedicated TODA terminal at the corner of Bucal Bypass Road. The proposed terminal is expected to serve as a central hub for trips դեպի Lamesa Bypass Road, improving accessibility and streamlining passenger flow.

“Isa sa ating napagkasunduan ang pagtatayo ng TODA terminal sa kanto ng Bucal Bypass Road, na magsisilbing daanan ng biyahe pataas ng Lamesa Bypass Road, higit lalo na sa itatayong BIR Regional Office—isang konkretong solusyon para mas mapadali ang pagbiyahe ng ating mga kababayan at mapalapit ang serbisyo sa komunidad,” Mayor Rizal said.

The initiative is also seen to complement the planned construction of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Regional Office in the area, which is expected to increase foot traffic and demand for reliable transport services.

City officials emphasized that the project reflects the local government’s continued commitment to enhancing mobility, supporting transport workers, and ensuring that public services remain accessible to residents.
