LAGUNA, Philippines — Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon conducted an on-site inspection of several public hospitals in Laguna following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to assess the condition of healthcare facilities and infrastructure projects across the province.


Accompanied by Laguna Governor Sol Aragones, Dizon personally examined the long-delayed new building of the Laguna Medical Center, which has remained unfinished for over five years, as well as the deteriorating facilities of the Luisiana District Hospital.


The inspection aimed to address long-standing infrastructure gaps in Laguna’s healthcare system, including the lack of adequate hospital buildings, treatment facilities, and other essential services that have burdened residents for years.


During the visit, Governor Aragones with Mayor Jomapher Uy Alvarez brought the DPWH chief to the Luisiana District Hospital to witness firsthand its poor and worsening condition, underscoring the urgency of government intervention.


Secretary Dizon assured the public that rehabilitation efforts and construction works will commence within the year, including the long-overdue completion of the Laguna Medical Center building.


The move signals a renewed push by the national government to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Laguna and improve access to quality medical services for its growing population.
