QUEZON—SINUSPINDE ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang ongoing rehabilitation wotks sa bahagi ng Maharlika Highway na sumasaklaw sa probinsya mga probinsya ng Quezon at Camarines Sur.
Sa ginanap na press conference sa Tourism Building sa Camarines Sur noong Biyernes, inihayag ni DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon na napagdesisyunan nila na isuspinde ang mga proyekto sa national highway na nagkukonekta sa 3 major islands, habang inihahanda ang mas epektibong plano para sa road network.
Napagdesisyunan din umano na ang segments ng Maharlika na kasama sa General Appropriation Act of 2026 ay ipasailalim sa district level, batay na rin sa kautusan ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na bubuhusan ng malaking pondo sa susunod na taon.
Ang rehabilitasyon ng Maharlika at Andaya highway ay kasama sa prayoridad ng Pangulo at kailangang maisaayos ito sa mas madaling panahon, ayon kay Sec. Dizon.
Nangako naman umano si Dizon na maaayos ang mga sirang segment ng road network sa 2ptobinsya sa loob ng 2 taon.
Nakaraang Biyernes,Enero 15 pinangunahan ni Dizon ang isinagawang inspeksyon highway’s segments sa Quezon, mula sa Lopez Viaduct sa Barangay Canda Ilaya, Lopez hanggang Barangay Binutasan sa Calauag at Barangay Bagong Silang sa Tagkawayan.
Inspeksyon din ang bahagi ng Camarines Sur, sa Barangay Cabasag Del Gallego at Barangay Cabutan at Barangay Tapi sa bayan ng Lupi.
