The City Government of Calamba joined the celebration of Gawad CalamBayani 2026, a program recognizing the remarkable dedication and invaluable contributions of educators who have helped shape the future of young Calambeños through excellence in teaching and unwavering commitment to public service.

The recognition program, led by the Department of Education (DepEd) Calamba, pays tribute to teachers who go beyond classroom instruction by inspiring students, nurturing their potential, and serving as role models in the community. It highlights the vital role educators play in building a brighter future for the city through quality education and compassionate service.

Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal expressed his admiration for the city’s teachers, emphasizing that they are among the true heroes of society.

“Hindi lahat ng bayani ay may kapa—ang iba ay may hawak na chalk, libro, at walang sawang pangarap para sa bawat mag-aaral.”

The mayor also praised the purpose of the Gawad CalamBayani program, saying it rightfully honors educators whose dedication extends far beyond their official responsibilities.

“Sa pamamagitan ng Gawad CalamBayani 2026, binibigyang pagkilala ng DepEd Calamba ang mga gurong hindi lamang nagtuturo ng aralin, kundi humuhubog ng kinabukasan, nagbibigay inspirasyon, at nagsisilbing ilaw sa bawat kabataang Calambeño. Ang programang ito ay pagkilala sa kanilang dedikasyon, sipag, at malasakit na higit pa sa tungkulin.”

Mayor Rizal concluded by congratulating the awardees and recognizing them as champions of education in Calamba.

“Mabuhay ang ating mga natatanging guro! Kayo ang tunay na CalamBayani ng edukasyon.”


The Gawad CalamBayani 2026 program serves as a testament to the city’s continuing commitment to honoring educators whose passion, sacrifice, and dedication continue to inspire generations and strengthen the foundation of quality education in Calamba.
