In a meticulously planned operation conducted by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team 1 (RSET), PDEA Rizal Provincial Office, and the Taytay Municipal Police Station, a high-value drug personality was apprehended during a buy-bust operation on March 22, 2024, at 10:20 AM.
The operation, executed with precision in an open parking lot of a fast-food restaurant located in Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, led to the arrest of Kasan Dalgan, alias Datu. Dalgan, a 40-year-old male, married security guard, and resident of Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, was identified as a significant figure in the illegal drug trade.
Authorities seized more or less 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu, with an estimated street value of Php3,400,000.00 during the operation. Alongside the illicit substance, buy-bust money was also confiscated, further disrupting the flow of illegal drugs in the region.
Dalgan now faces charges under Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law imposes severe penalties on individuals involved in the manufacture, sale, distribution, and trafficking of illegal drugs, reflecting the government’s unwavering commitment to combat drug-related crimes.
The successful operation serves as a testament to the dedication and professionalism of law enforcement agencies in their relentless pursuit of justice.
