The Provincial Government of Laguna, led by Sol Aragones, expanded its Laguna Pantry initiative by distributing fresh tilapia and vegetables to families in Cabuyao and Los Baños on May 22, further strengthening food security efforts while supporting local farmers and fisherfolk.


The activity was conducted in partnership with the Field Agricultural Extension Services – Office of the Provincial Agriculturist under the leadership of Dr. Niño Banayo. The program aims to provide direct food assistance to communities while helping sustain the livelihood of Laguna’s agricultural and fishing sectors.


According to Governor Sol Aragones, the provincial government remains committed to delivering practical and immediate support to residents across Laguna.


“Masaya po tayo na pakonti-konti ay natutulungan po natin ang ating mga kababayan sa maliit na paraan. Ito rin po ay tulong sa ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda sa lalawigan ng Laguna,” pahayag niya.


The distribution activities were held in Barangay Diezmo in Cabuyao and Barangay San Antonio in Los Baños, where residents received fresh vegetables and live tilapia sourced from local producers.


Also present during the activity were Dennis Hain, Neil Nocon, Tutti Caringal, and Ninoy Bagues, who expressed support for the continued implementation of the provincial government’s community pantry and food assistance programs.


The expanded Laguna Pantry initiative highlights the province’s continuing efforts to address the needs of vulnerable families while creating stronger market opportunities for local farmers and fisherfolk throughout Laguna.
