In a targeted operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team 1 and PDEA Cavite Provincial Office, a significant breakthrough was achieved in the fight against illegal drug trade.
On April 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM, authorities moved swiftly, conducting a joint buy-bust operation in an open parking lot of a fast-food restaurant along Governor’s Drive, Barangay Hugo Perez, Trece Martirez, Cavite. The operation aimed to apprehend individuals involved in the distribution of illegal substances.
The operation yielded the apprehension of Esah Salik y Barimbi, also known as Bai, a 20-year-old male resident of City Homes, Dasmariñas City. Salik is identified as a high-value target, raising concerns about his significant role in the local drug trade.
Authorities seized a substantial quantity of suspected shabu, estimated to be around 100 grams, with a street value of Php 680,000. Alongside the narcotics, a sum of buy-bust money was also confiscated, indicating Salik’s active involvement in drug transactions.
Salik now faces serious charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. This arrest marks a significant victory for law enforcement agencies battling against the proliferation of illegal substances in the region.
The PDEA and other law enforcement units remain steadfast in their commitment to dismantle drug networks and bring perpetrators to justice. This operation underscores their unwavering dedication to safeguarding communities from the scourge of illegal drugs.
