The City Government of Calamba City has once again gained national recognition after receiving the prestigious Excellence Award for Local Governance from the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants for its outstanding commitment to financial transparency, integrity, and good governance.

Mayor Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal personally received the award during the awarding ceremony held at the Dakak Park and Beach Resort on May 20, 2026.
The recognition highlights the city’s continued efforts in promoting accountable governance, efficient financial management, and transparent public service under the administration of Mayor Rizal. The award also reflects the strong collaboration between the local government and its financial management teams in ensuring responsible handling of public funds and delivering quality services to Calambeños.

The Excellence Award for Local Governance is one of PHALGA’s highest recognitions given to local government units that demonstrate exemplary standards in fiscal responsibility, transparency, and ethical governance practices.

City officials expressed pride over the achievement, emphasizing that the recognition further strengthens Calamba City’s reputation as one of the leading local government units in the country in terms of good governance and public accountability.
