The Quezon Police Provincial Office has activated a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) named “MOTEGI” to probe into the disturbing discovery of two cadavers in Tayabas City. The incident occurred around 4:30 PM on March 14, 2024, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.

According to Police Colonel Leon D Monte, Provincial Director of Quezon, the SITG “MOTEGI” held its first case conference on March 15, 2024, to delve into the circumstances surrounding the found cadavers. The victims were identified as Mai Motegi, a 26-year-old Japanese national, and her mother, Lorry Oliva Litada, 54, who resided in Japan. They were discovered in the residential backyard of Charlie Sr. and Ligaya Oliva Pajulas, with Ligaya being Lorry’s elder sister.

The investigation was initiated after reports of the victims’ disappearance on February 21, 2024, by Saylee Oliva Olbis, another sibling of Lorry. Upon receiving the reports, the Tayabas City Police Station conducted an ocular inspection at the Pajulas residence, where they observed a pile of branches approximately 25 meters away from the backyard. Subsequent digging revealed the buried cadavers, prompting further investigation.

Police Colonel Monte emphasized the commitment of the authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident. The SITG “MOTEGI,” comprising seasoned investigators and experts from various provincial offices, is tasked with uncovering the truth behind this tragic event. Monte instructed the team to conduct comprehensive profiling of suspects, expedite the results of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) Examination, and undertake other necessary measures to swiftly resolve the case.

In addition, Police Colonel Monte urged the public to refrain from speculation and instead extend their cooperation and support to the ongoing investigation. He encouraged individuals with relevant information to come forward and assist in the pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.

The activation of SITG “MOTEGI” underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating this case. As the investigation progresses, efforts will be made to provide updates to the public and ensure transparency in the pursuit of justice. The tragic discovery in Tayabas City serves as a reminder of the importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community in combating crime and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
