QUEZON — Isang dambuhalang bluefin tuna na tumitimbang ng 253 kilo ang nalambat ng mga mangingisda sa Infanta, Quezon.
Dumaong ang bangka sa Brgy. Dinahican Fishport nitong Sabado ng umaga kung saan anim na katao ang nagtulong-tulong upang maibaba ang napakalaking isda mula sa sasakyan-dagat.
Ayon sa mga mangingisda, ilang araw nilang pinaghirapan ang pangingisda at paglalambat sa karagatang bahagi ng Pacific Ocean sa silangan ng Quezon at Aurora bago nila nahuli ang naturang tuna.
Sa kabila ng laki at bigat ng huli at sa halip na malaking kita, problema sa presyo ang kanilang kinaharap.
Ayon pa sa mga mangingisda, nabebenta lamang ito sa mababang halaga sa mga namamakyaw dahil sa kakulangan ng direktang mamimili o importer.
Dahil dito, nananatiling hamon sa mga lokal na mangingisda ang kakulangan sa merkado na magbibigay sana ng mas mataas na presyo sa kanilang mga nahuhuling isda.
Umaasa naman ang mga ito na mabibigyan ng solusyon ang ganitong sitwasyon upang mas mapakinabangan ang kanilang pinaghirapan sa karagatan.
