QUEZON — Isang High-Value Individual (HVI) ang naaresto sa ikinasang anti-illegal drugs operation ng Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) sa Lucena City noong gabi ng Mayo 1, 2026.

Kinilala ang suspek na si Charles Lawrence Pestaño Cruz alyas Charles 31 taong gulang isang delivery rider at residente ng Brgy. Dongalo, Parañaque City.

Base sa report ng pulisya dakong alas-7:40 ng gabi nang magsagawa ng isang drug buy-bust operation ang pinagsanib na pwersa ng Intelligence at Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) ng Lucena Component City Police Station at ng Quezon Maritime Police Station sa Purok Masagana, Brgy. Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City.

Nagresulta ang operasyon sa pagkakasamsam ng anim (6) na heat-sealed transparent plastic bags at isang (1) sachet ng hinihinalang shabu na may kabuuang timbang na 225 gramo.

Ang mga nakuhang ilegal na droga ay may standard drug price ayon sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) na 1,530,000.00 pesos at tinatayang may street value na umaabot sa 4,590,000.00 pesos narekober din ang isang (1) pirasong 500.00 pesos na ginamit bilang buy-bust money at isang (1) itim na sling bag.

Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Lucena PNP ang suspek at
nahaharap sa mga kasong paglabag sa Section 5 at Section 11 ng RA 9165 /Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Ayon kay Quezon Provincial Director PCOL Romulo A Albacea “Hindi lamang sa dami ng droga ang sukatan ng tagumpay ng operasyon, kundi ang pagbawas ng panganib na maipapasa sa komunidad ang bawat gramo na nakukumpiska ay katumbas ng mga buhay na naililigtas.”
