In a heartwarming event at the Evacuation Center in Los Banos, Laguna, beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Integrated Livelihood Program, Kabuhayan, were awarded with essential resources to uplift their lives.

Under the initiative led by v.Governor Atty. Karen Agapay, supported by Senator Loren Legarda, a total of 1,047 beneficiaries across 30 municipalities in Laguna were provided with diverse livelihood opportunities. These included packages for Sari-sari stores, tailoring shops, welding shops, and rice retail stores, with the goal of fostering self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship among individuals in the community.

Furthermore, in a gesture of compassion and inclusivity, 10 wheelchairs were distributed to those in need, predominantly benefiting senior citizens under the Lingap Loren program.

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and tears of joy as recipients expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the support they received from Vice Governor Agapay and the collaborative efforts of the government officials involved. This assistance not only provides immediate relief but also fosters long-term sustainability and empowerment within the community.

The recipients of the livelihood packages are individuals who have completed short courses in sewing and welding at TESDA. Meanwhile, those who received Sari-sari stores and rice retailing businesses will continue to be guided by government officials to ensure their success in their respective ventures.

The event serves as a beacon of hope, showcasing the power of government initiatives in making tangible differences in the lives of marginalized individuals. It underscores the importance of partnerships between local government units, national agencies, and public figures in addressing socio-economic challenges and promoting inclusive growth.

As beneficiaries embark on their entrepreneurial journeys, they carry with them the promise of a brighter future, fueled by the support and opportunities provided by programs like KALINGA at AGAPAY.
