5,000 Farmers, Fisherfolk Receive Rice Aid; 2,076 Sacks of Fertilizer Distributed in Calamba

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — A total of 5,000 farmers and fisherfolk in Calamba City received assistance consisting of 10 kilograms of rice each, while 2,076 sacks of fertilizer were distributed to local farmers to support their livelihood and agricultural production.

The assistance for farmers and fisherfolk was provided under the national government’s Bawat Bayang Makikinabang program, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., while the fertilizer distribution was facilitated by the Calamba City Government.

Mayor Ross Rizal said the initiatives reflect the city government’s continuing efforts to strengthen support for sectors that play a vital role in food production and the local economy.

“Patuloy nating pinapalakas ang suporta para sa ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda.”

“Mula sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Calamba, 2,076 fertilizer ang ipinamahagi para makatulong sa ating mga magsasaka sa kanilang kabuhayan at produksyon.”

The mayor also acknowledged the national government’s assistance to the city’s agricultural and fishing sectors.

“Samantala, 5,000 magsasaka at mangingisda naman ang nabigyan ng tulong mula sa Pamahalaang Nasyonal, sa pangunguna ni Pangulo Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., sa ilalim ng programang Bawat Bayang Makikinabang.”

Rizal emphasized that the assistance is intended to reach communities and sectors that work daily to help ensure food supply and sustain their livelihoods.

“Buwis ng mamamayan, ibinabalik sa mamamayan—lalo na sa mga sektor na araw-araw na nagsusumikap para sa ating pagkain at kabuhayan.”

He added: “Para sa magsasaka. Para sa mangingisda. Para sa Calambeño.”
