The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Quezon Provincial Office successfully apprehended a high-value drug personality during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Talaan Aplaya, Sariaya, Quezon, early this morning.

The operation, conducted on May 9, 2024, at 4:41 a.m., led to the arrest of Jayson Maquiñana y Red, a 24-year-old male resident of 44 Faculty St., Santa Ana Pulong Candy, Taguig. Maquiñana, who works as a helper, was apprehended along with the confiscation of more or less 500 grams of suspected shabu and buy-bust money.

Authorities also identified another individual involved in the illegal drug trade, named Tobby Gutierrez, who is currently at large. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Gutierrez.

Maquiñana is set to face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case underscores the government’s relentless campaign against illegal drugs and its commitment to bring perpetrators to justice.
