Calamba City, Laguna – On June 30, 2024, a coordinated counterinsurgency operation led by the Regional Special Operation Unit and Regional Intelligence Division 5, along with personnel from the 92nd Special Action Company, 9th Special Action Battalion, and other PNP and AFP units, resulted in the arrest of two PSR-listed CTG members.
The arrested individuals, identified by their aliases Rudy and Cardo, were apprehended in separate locations. Rudy, affiliated with the Sub-Regional Yunit Gerilya, Sub-Regional Committee 3 of the Bicol Regional Party Committee, was captured in Brgy. Camias, San Miguel, Bulacan. His arrest was based on a Warrant of Arrest for Murder (Criminal Case 2023-3435) issued on July 20, 2024.
Meanwhile, Cardo, associated with the Komiteng Larangang Gerilya North, Sub-Regional Committee 4 of the Bicol Regional Party Committee, was detained in Brgy. 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of Murder (CC Nos. 1924-2019 and 1925-2019) dated May 18, 2020, and Multiple Attempted Murder (CC No. 2065-2020) dated October 13, 2020, with a recommended bail of PhP 120,000.00. These warrants were issued by the Regional Trial Court, 5th Judicial Region, Branch 55, Irosin, Sorsogon.
The Regional Intelligence Division, PRO 5, has taken custody of the suspects for further documentation and proper legal procedures.
This successful operation underscores the Philippine National Police Special Action Force’s unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order in the region.
