Calamba City, Laguna — PCOL GAUVIN MEL Y UNOS, Acting Provincial Director of the Laguna Police Provincial Office, led a significant bloodletting activity on July 6, 2024, at Camp BGen. Paciano Rizal in Brgy. Bagumbayan, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

The event, themed “Dugong Bayani Para sa Pilipino” (Heroic Blood for Filipinos) and “Dugo mo, Buhay ko” (Your Blood, My Life), was organized as part of the 29th Police Community Relations Month celebration. This year’s overarching theme is “Ligtas Ka sa Bagong Pilipinas” (Safe in the New Philippines).

Collaborating with various partners, including Masonic Lodge 481, Sierra Madre Lodge 481, Cebuana Lhuillier Agencies, Makati Medical Center, and the CGroup of Companies, the bloodletting activity received support from the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army and several Laguna Advocacy Support Groups (ASG) and Force Multipliers.

The program began with an invocation and a message from a representative of Cebuana Lhuillier. Participants included personnel from the Provincial Headquarters (PHQ), Provincial Support Units, different police stations, the Laguna Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 2nd ID Philippine Army, and security guards from the CGroup of Companies. Advocacy Support Groups from various police units also actively participated.

In total, 184 individuals from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army, CGroup of Companies, ASG, and Force Multipliers joined the event. Among them, 104 donors generously contributed a total of 46,800 cc of blood.

Volunteer donors were treated to complimentary food packs, coffee, candies, bread, boiled eggs, and bottled water courtesy of Masonic Lodge 481. PCOL Unos, in his address to the participants, emphasized the critical role of blood donation in saving lives and supporting the community.

This successful bloodletting activity exemplifies the spirit of bayanihan (community cooperation) and underscores the importance of collective efforts in ensuring a safer and healthier Philippines.
