ATTY. INTON CALLS FOR PROBE INTO ALLEGED ILLEGAL STL OPERATIONS IN QUEZON CITY

QUEZON CITY — Nanawagan si Atty. Ariel Inton para sa isang masusing imbestigasyon sa mga alegasyon ng umano’y operasyon ng Small Town Lottery (STL) betting stations at mga makina sa Quezon City na sinasabing walang kaukulang awtorisasyon mula sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Ayon kay Inton, mahalagang siyasatin kung may mga STL operation na nagpapakita umanong lehitimo ngunit maaaring walang sapat na permit o authorization mula sa PCSO.

Kabilang sa mga alegasyong nais mapatunayan sa pamamagitan ng imbestigasyon ang umano’y paggamit ng tinatawag na “cloned” STL machines, gayundin ang operasyon ng mga betting station na walang kaukulang awtorisasyon.
Iginiit din ni Inton na dapat suriin ng mga kinauukulang awtoridad ang mga dokumento, permit, ownership structure at aktuwal na operasyon ng mga STL operator na sangkot sa mga alegasyon.

Layunin umano nitong matukoy kung mayroong paglabag sa mga panuntunan at regulasyon ng PCSO.

Kung mapatutunayan ang mga alegasyon, maaari itong magkaroon ng epekto sa mga lehitimong STL operator, mga bettor at sa koleksiyon o kita ng pamahalaan.

Gayunman, binigyang-diin na ang mga paratang laban sa sinumang indibidwal o kumpanya ay dapat munang dumaan sa kaukulang beripikasyon at pormal na imbestigasyon bago magkaroon ng anumang pananagutan.
