Arestado ang 29 personalidad kahapon Mayo 11, 2023 sa Anti-Illegal Gambling Operations ng Laguna PNP, sa pamumuno ni Police Colonel RANDY GLENN G SILVIO, Acting Provincial Director, Laguna PPO.
Ang kampanya ng Laguna PNP laban sa ilegal na pagsusugal ay maigting na iniimplementa ng kapulisan ng Laguna, sa tulong at suporta ng pamayanan lalong-lalo na ng Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN’s) sa ibat-ibang barangay sa lalawigan ng Laguna.
Nagsagawa ang Laguna PNP ng 19 na operasyon laban sa illegal numbers of games (bookies) na nag resulta sa pagka-aresto ng 19 na suspek habang arestado din ang 10 na suspek na sangkot naman sa other forms of illegal gambling katulad ng Tong-its at Mahjong na kung saan ay kumpiskado sa mga na arestong suspek ang halagang Php 8,865.00 na bet-money.
Ang mga naarestong suspek ay kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng kani-kanilang operating units at nahaharap sila sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 9287 at PD 1602 “An Act Increasing the Penalties for Illegal Numbers Games, Amending Certain Provisions”.
Ayon sa pahayag ni PCOL SILVIO, “Ang Laguna PNP po ay pataluloy na tatalima sa mga direktiba ng Regional Director PRO CALABARZON, PBGEN CARLITO M GACES at ni PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA JR, Chief PNP at bilang pagsunod sa ating mga namumuno ay paiigtingin pa ng kapulisan ng Laguna ang mga operasyon laban sa mga ilegal na pagsusugal hindi po natin hahayaan malulong ang ating mga kababayan dito sa Laguna sa mga ilegal na gawain katulad nito. At sa mga mamamayan ng Laguna nawa’y patuloy po tayong magtulungan para sa mas mabilis na pagsugpo sa mga ilegal na gawain (pagsusugal) ng ating mga kababayan.” #gtgmayani
