Noong May 5, 2024 binuksan ang kauna-unahang Vice Mayor Baby Sumangil Evangelista Tennis Tournament na ginanap sa Magtec Lawn Tennis Court, College of Forestry, UP, Los Baños, Laguna.
Ang nasabing tournament ay nilahukan ng mga opisyales at myembro ng Makiling Golf and Tennis Club (MAGTEC) na may iba’t-ibang kategorya gaya ng Open Class Doubles, Open Class A, B & C Doubles, Beginner’s Class Doubles and Legend Doubles (70 years old and above)
Sa pagbubukas ng nasabing programa, sinabi ni VMayor Baby Sumangil na hindi lng aniya siya tutulong o magbibigay ng kaligayahan sa kanyang mga kababayan sa tuwing papalapit ang eleksyon, kung di ayon sa kanya ito ay dapat tuloy-tuloy na programa upang ang kanyang mga nasasakupan ay mabigyan ng pagkakataon na maipakita ang kanilang angking galing lalo na pagdating sa larangan ng isports.
Dagdag pa ni Sumangil na lahat aniya ng uri ng larong pampalakasan ay kanyang bubuhayin nang sa ganun ay mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga manlalarong taga LB higit lalo ang mga kabataan.
Magugunita na kamakailan ay binuksan din ang 1st VMayor Baby Sumangil Evangelista Billiard Tournament na nilahukan ng mga nagsama-samang manlalarong bilyar ng bayan ng Los Baños at ito ay naging matagumpay na naidaos.
“Bilang ina ng bayan ng Los Banos nais kong ipadama ang tunay na alaga at kalinga ng Isang ina sa aking mga mahal na kababayan. Isang malaking karangalan po ang pagsilbihan ko ang aking nasasakupan dahil kahit noon pa man, ang serbisyong Sumangil ay subok na sa paglilingkod sa ating bayan”. Ito ang naging pahayag ng masipag at mapagmahal na Vice Mayor ng Los Baños bilang naging panauhing tagapagsalita sa nasabing programa.
