Ikinalulugod i-anunsyo ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na available na ang digital National ID para magamit ng publiko sa anumang transaksyon na nangangailangan ng pruweba ng pagkakakilanlan o proof of identity. Nitong buwan ng Hunyo 2024 ay matagumpay na nailunsad ng PSA ang digital National ID kasama na ang National ID Check na naglalayong pasiglahin ang tuloy-tuloy na paghahatid ng serbisyo at pagpapadali ng mga transaksyon sa gobyerno.
Ang digital National ID ay inisyatibo ng pamahalaan upang agad na matamasa na ng mga nakarehistro sa national ID ang mga benepisyong hatid nito habang naghihintay ng national ID card. Samantala, ang national ID check naman ay isang paraan upang ma-authenticate o mapatotohanan ang ipinrisintang national ID.
Patuloy na hinihikayat ng PSA ang lahat ng Pilipino na magparehistro at gumamit ng digital national ID pati na rin ang national ID Check. Ang mga karagdagang detalye tungkol sa proseso ng pagkuha ng digital national ID ay matatagpuan sa opisyal na website ng Philsys at mga opisyal na social media pages.
