QUEZON — Apat na tao, kasama na ang driver, ang nasawi matapos araruhin ng isang delivery van ang kanilang tricycle sa Quirino Highway, Barangay Sta. Cecilia sa Tagkawayan, Quezon, nitong Linggo ng hapon, Nobyembre 23, 2025.
Base sa report ng Tagkawayan PNP, dakong alas 3:20 ng hapon, habang paakyat ang tricycle sa kurbadang highway,nang salpukin ito ng kasalubong na cargo truck.
Sa imbestigasyon ng mga pulis, lumabas na nawalan ng preno ang van na may kargang higit siyam na toneladang parcel mula sa isang courier company.
Dahil dito, nabangga at nakaladkad ang tricycle ng halos 150 metro, na naging dahilan ng pagkawasak nito.
Dinala agad sa Maria L. Eleazar General Hospital ang mga pasahero na sina Lea, Shirly, at Dianne, mga residente ng Barangay Tabason at Rizal sa bayan ng Tagkawayan,subalit lahat ng mga biktima ay idineklarang dead on arrival ng doktor.
Binawian din ng buhay ang driver ng tricycle na si Michael, na taga- Barangay Tabason din.
Isang 17-anyos na babaeng estudyante na si Daniele ang nagtamo ng malubhang pinsala at inilipat sa Bicol Medical Center, at nasa kritikal na kalagayan dahil sa mga sugat na tinamo.
Hawak na ng mga pulis ang driver ng cargo truck na si Jerome, 42 anyos na residente ng Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Inihahanda na ang kasong reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide at physical injuries, pati na rin ang pinsala sa ari-arian laban sa kanya.
