Quezon City, Philippines — December 9, 2025 — Millions of Filipino senior citizens received a timely boost this holiday season as the Social Security System (SSS) completed the release of its annual 13th month pension, following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the guidance of Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go in coordination with the Social Security Commission.

The payout was implemented in two tranches during the first week of December 2025. On December 1, SSS credited P10.5 billion to the accounts of about 2.13 million pensioners. This was followed by the second tranche on December 4, when P8.3 billion was released to around 1.53 million pensioners. In total, P18.8 billion reached approximately 3.66 million beneficiaries nationwide.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Joseph M. de Claro said the yearly cash benefit is a token of gratitude to pensioners who supported the System through years of contributions.

“This benefit recognizes the lifelong contributions of our members. We hope this extra financial assistance brings comfort and happiness to our pensioners and their loved ones this Christmas season,” de Claro said.


This year’s 13th month pension carried higher amounts following the rollout of the Pension Reform Program in September 2025. The reform granted a 10 percent increase to retirement and disability pensioners, while survivorship pensioners received a 5 percent adjustment, enhancing income support for beneficiaries.

The incentive is automatically deposited to the bank accounts of qualified pensioners under the retirement, disability, and survivorship programs. SSS reminded pensioners to regularly update their account information to prevent any delays in fund crediting.

SSS also assured members and the public of the continued strength and integrity of the Fund. For 2024, the agency earned an unmodified audit opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA), affirming its sound financial management and solid governance practices, while ongoing improvements are being addressed through corrective actions.
