CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — A newly constructed Pseudo Clinic was formally inaugurated at the BJMP Calamba Female Dormitory in Barangay Turbina, marking another step toward improving healthcare services and welfare support for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).


The blessing and inauguration ceremony was led by Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal, who emphasized the importance of providing humane and compassionate care within correctional facilities. Alongside the opening of the clinic, city officials also inspected the newly established ICT Room and Mess Hall designed to improve the daily operations and working conditions of BJMP personnel.


Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal said, “Isinagawa natin ang Blessing and Inauguration ng bagong tayong Pseudo Clinic sa BJMP Calamba – Female Dormitory sa Brgy. Turbina. Isang hakbang ito upang mas mapangalagaan ang kalusugan, dignidad, at kapakanan ng ating mga Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). Kasabay nito ang ating pag inspeksyon sa ating ipinagawang ICT Room at Mess Hall upang mas mapagaan ang mga gawain ng BJMP Calamba.”


He further highlighted that the initiative goes beyond infrastructure, serving as a symbol of compassion and second chances for individuals under detention.
“Naniniwala tayo na ang bawat isa ay karapat-dapat mabigyan ng pagkakataong makabangon, maghilom, at muling magsimula.

Ang pasilidad na ito ay hindi lamang simpleng klinika—ito ay simbolo ng pag-asa, malasakit, at paniniwalang may magandang bukas na naghihintay para sa bawat isa,” Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal added.


The local government continues to strengthen programs centered on rehabilitation, dignity, and holistic care for PDLs, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive public service.


“Sa tulong ng sama-samang pagkakaisa at malasakit, patuloy nating ipapaalala na ang pagbabago ay posible, at ang bawat araw ay pagkakataon para maging mas mabuting tao,” the mayor said.
