CALAMBA POLICE NAB HVI, ACCOMPLICE IN BUY-BUST; ₱544K WORTH OF SHABU, UZI SEIZED

A High-Value Individual (HVI) listed in the police drug watchlist and his alleged accomplice were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Calamba City Police Station (CCPS) in Barangay Looc, Calamba City, Laguna on August 1, 2026.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of PLTCOL Dennis C. De Guzman, Chief of Police of the Calamba City Police Station.
The operation, carried out at around 1:45 p.m. under PDEA Coordination Control No. 4-00-08012026-011, led to the arrest of Baltazar, alias “Val,” 39, an HVI-listed suspect, and Francis, alias “Fran,” 23, who was identified as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) not included in the drug watchlist.

According to the report, the suspects were apprehended after allegedly selling a sachet containing suspected shabu to an undercover police operative.

Authorities confiscated a total of 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱544,200.

Also recovered during the operation were a 9mm Uzi submachine gun without a serial number, one magazine, six live rounds of 9mm ammunition, a green pouch, a black clutch bag, recovered marked money, and the buy-bust money used during the operation.

The suspects now face charges for Violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), while Baltazar will also face charges under Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) for illegal possession of a firearm. Francis will also be charged with Violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26 of RA 9165.

Police said the operation was documented using a Body-Worn Camera (BWC) and an Alternative Recording Device (ARD). The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights, including their Miranda Rights and the Anti-Torture Act warning, before being taken into custody.

The arrested individuals are currently detained at the Calamba City Police Station while documentation and inquest proceedings are underway. The incident report has also been submitted to the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).
