A 20-year-old man, listed as the most wanted in the CALABARZON region for the statutory rape of his underage girlfriend, was apprehended by the Antipolo Component City Police Station in a coordinated operation on August 6, 2024, at approximately 3:17 PM in Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City, Rizal.
According to a report from PCOL Felipe B. Maraggun, Provincial Director, the arrest was made under the authority of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court for statutory rape, a crime with no bail recommendation. The suspect, identified as Alyas Lan, resides in the same area where he was arrested. Police investigations revealed that he raped his minor girlfriend earlier this year. The victim reported the incident to the police, leading to the filing of charges and his immediate arrest.
Currently, the suspect is under the custody of the Antipolo Custodial Facility, where proper legal procedures and case disposition are underway.
PCOL Maraggun emphasized that the Rizal Police Provincial Office remains steadfast in its efforts to apprehend wanted persons and will not cease in its mission to combat crimes that undermine security, peace, and order in the province.
