The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released a total of P31.93 billion as of September 10, 2024, to fund salary adjustments for various government agencies. This initiative follows the signing of Executive Order No. 64 by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr., approving the implementation of the Salary Standardization Law VI (SSL VI) for civilian government employees.

DBM Secretary Amenah “Mina” Pangandaman announced that the disbursement process is progressing swiftly, with funds already released to 257 departments and agencies, while 58 others are currently processing their requests. “We are doing everything we can so that we can release the budget to all agencies as soon as possible. This is something our government colleagues have been eagerly waiting for. We also urge department and agency heads to distribute the salary differential immediately, as the increase is retroactive starting January of this year,” Pangandaman said.

Among the departments that have already received their funding are:

Congress of the Philippines

Office of the President

Office of the Vice President

Department of Agriculture

Department of Budget and Management

Department of Education

Department of Health

Department of National Defense

Department of Public Works and Highways

Department of Social Welfare and Development

Commission on Audit

Civil Service Commission, and more.


SSL VI Dashboard Launched for Transparency

In line with efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance, the DBM also launched the Salary Standardization Law VI (SSL VI) dashboard. This real-time tool will allow stakeholders and the public to monitor the release of funds for salary adjustments, ensuring efficient oversight and management of resources.

“This dashboard reflects our commitment to transparency and open government. We want people and stakeholders to be informed and updated in real-time about our budget releases,” Sec. Pangandaman added.

The SSL VI dashboard is now live and accessible on the DBM’s official website, providing a comprehensive view of the disbursement of funds across various agencies.

The release of funds is based on the requests submitted by agencies, in which they calculated the necessary salary adjustments and fulfilled the requirements outlined by the DBM. This move ensures that government employees receive the appropriate pay adjustments promptly.

Moving Forward

The DBM is pushing for the completion of salary adjustments across all government agencies, with ongoing efforts to fast-track the disbursement of funds. With the SSL VI in place, government workers can expect higher pay, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of public servants.
