CALAX Shines with Double Awards for Tourism and Environmental Efforts in South Luzon

The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), managed by Metro Pacific Tollways South, recently received two prestigious accolades: the Cavite Tourism Excellence Award and the Green Award from Sta. Rosa City Government. These recognitions highlight CALAX’s significant contributions to both tourism and environmental sustainability in South Luzon.

The Cavite Tourism Excellence Awards, organized by the Provincial Government of Cavite, honored CALAX for its ongoing role in promoting regional tourism. Through initiatives like the “Biyaheng South” advocacy program, CALAX has significantly impacted the local tourism sector, driving increased interest in the province’s attractions and destinations.

One of the program’s key projects, the recently launched Cavite Tourism Passport, encourages travelers to explore the province by collecting stamps from various tourist spots and establishments. This initiative fosters a sense of adventure and achievement for visitors while contributing to the economic growth of the region by showcasing its hidden gems and cultural landmarks.

In addition to promoting tourism, CALAX was recognized as a Sustainable Development Partner at the Sta. Rosa City Green Awards. The expressway, known as a “green expressway,” integrates renewable energy and nature-focused design to actively reduce its carbon footprint while enhancing the driving experience for motorists.

The Green Award also acknowledges CALAX’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. These include community cleanups, tree planting activities, and participation in the annual International Coastal Cleanup, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
