BATANGAS — Dalawa ang patay habang 6 ang sugatan matapos araruhin ng pampasaherong jeep na minamaneho ng umanoy lasing na driver ang grupo ng mga barangay tanod na naglalakad sa gilid ng kalsada sa may Brgy. Tulo, Batangas City nitong Undas ng hapon.
Ayon sa report ng Batangas PNP, naglalakad sa kanan ng kalsada ang grupo ng mahigit 10 mga tanod ng Barangay Tulo, ng salpukin ang mga ito ng rumaragasang jeep na minamaneho ng 55-anyos na driver.
Kabilang sa nasawi ang isang babaeng barangay tanod at isang 49-anyos na lalaking tanod.
Nagtamo ang dalawang biktima ng grabeng pinsala sa ulo at katawan matapos kaladkarin ng sasakyan ng ilang metro na naging sanhi ng kamatayan ng mga ito.
Dalawa pa sa mga ito ang nagtamo rin ng malubhang sugat sa ibat ibang bahagi ng katawan na kasalukuyang pa ring nilalapatan ng lunas sa ospital.
Nakalabas na sa ospital ang apat sa mga biktima na nagtamo lamang ng mga minor injury.
Ayon sa isa sa mga biktima na nakaligtas sa insidente, nagsasagawa sila ng tradisyunal na “pangangaluluwa” kasama ang iba pang mga tanod sa mga bahay sa gilid ng highway nang mangyari ang aksidente.
Mabilis umano ang takbo ng jeep at sumampa sa gutter at sidewalk ng kalsada kaya nabangga sila.
Inaresto naman ng mga pulis ang driver na nahaharap sa kasong reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide at multiple physical injuries.
