Mayor Roseller “Ross” Rizal remains steadfast in extending support to Calamba residents affected by Typhoon Kristine, with relief operations continuing nearly two weeks after the storm’s impact. The mayor personally oversees aid distribution to different Barangays and yesterday (November 05, 2024) back to Lingga, Palingon, and Sampiruhan, ensuring assistance reaches those who did not relocate to evacuation centers but still face hardships.

According to Mayor Rizal, his approach of “Gobyerno ang Lalapit sa Tao” (The Government Will Come to the People) is a key aspect of his administration. By prioritizing relief efforts even for those in their homes, he aims to address the needs of every resident impacted by the typhoon, regardless of their location.

This ongoing aid includes essential supplies and resources to help the community regain stability. Mayor Rizal shared his awareness of the struggles that residents have faced while remaining in their homes, vowing that the government’s presence would be felt across affected neighborhoods.

Beyond immediate relief, Mayor Rizal has committed to a long-term plan for rehabilitation and reconstruction. He assured residents that efforts will continue to repair damaged homes and infrastructure, with an aim to restore normalcy and security to the community in the coming months.

Mayor Rizal’s “Ramdam na Reporma” (Reforms That Resonate) vision embodies his dedication to creating a government that stands by its people in times of need. With a deep sense of faith and community spirit, he expressed his hopes for recovery and resilience, wishing everyone a “makaDiyos at makaRizal na araw” (God-centered and Rizal-inspired day).
