CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The City Government of Calamba has once again received an Unmodified Opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA), a distinction that signifies compliance with government accounting standards and reflects the proper, transparent, and accountable management of public funds.

Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal announced the achievement, describing it as a significant recognition of the city’s commitment to good governance and fiscal responsibility.

“𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗚𝗔𝗣 𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗞𝗢𝗗 𝗠𝗨𝗟𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗚 ‘𝗨𝗡𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡’ O NAGSASABING MAAYOS, MASINOP, AT TAPAT ANG PAGGAMIT NATIN SA PONDO NG ATING LUNGSOD,” Mayor Rizal said.

The Unmodified Opinion is the highest audit opinion that can be issued by COA, indicating that a local government unit’s financial statements are presented fairly and in accordance with applicable standards.

“Isang malaking karangalan para sa atin ang pagtanggap ng Unmodified Opinion mula sa Commission on Audit (COA). Ang pagkilalang ito ay nagpapatunay na ang pondo ng Lungsod ng Calamba ay pinamamahalaan nang maayos, tapat, at alinsunod sa mga itinakdang pamantayan ng pamahalaan,” he added.

Mayor Rizal emphasized that the recognition belongs not only to the city leadership but also to the entire local government workforce and the residents who continue to place their trust in the administration.

“Hindi lamang ito tagumpay ng inyong lingkod, kundi tagumpay ng buong Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Calamba at ng bawat Calambeñong nagtitiwala sa ating pamamahala. Patunay ito ng ating sama-samang pagsisikap na mapanatili ang transparency, accountability, at responsableng paggamit ng pondo ng bayan.”

The mayor also reaffirmed the city’s commitment to maintaining integrity and excellence in public service, assuring residents that efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability will continue.

“Makakaasa kayo na patuloy nating isusulong ang isang bukas, mahusay, at mapagkakatiwalaang pamahalaan na tunay na naglilingkod para sa kapakanan ng bawat Calambeño.”

The latest COA recognition further strengthens Calamba City’s reputation for responsible governance and prudent financial stewardship, underscoring the local government’s dedication to ensuring that public funds are managed effectively for the benefit of its citizens.
