SILENCED TO HIDE RAPE, Revenge Eyed as Motive in Batangas Killing; Suspect Nabbed in 90 Minutes

TALISAY, BATANGAS — In a lightning-fast response, local authorities apprehended a 33-year-old suspect just an hour and a half after a horrific stabbing spree left three family members dead, including a toddler, in Barangay Aya, Talisay, Batangas.

The bloodbath, which occurred at around 10:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026, claimed the lives of a 59-year-old woman, her 35-year-old daughter, and her 2-year-old grandson. Another victim, a 6-year-old boy, sustained multiple stab wounds and is currently recuperating in a hospital.

The Great Escape and Heroic Rescue
According to police reports, two older children of the 35-year-old victim—a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl—managed to survive the onslaught. The teenagers were inside one of the bedrooms when they heard the commotion. In a desperate bid for survival, they jumped out of a window and ran to their relatives’ house next door to cry for help.

The suspect also targeted the 15-year-old girl during the attack, but she and her 13-year-old brother managed to break free. Their eyewitness testimonies proved vital in identifying the perpetrator.

Swift Police Action
Following the survivors’ positive identification of the suspect, operatives from the Talisay Municipal Police Station, led by Chief of Police PMAJ El Cid A. Villanueva, immediately launched a hot pursuit operation.
At around 12:30 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026—just 90 minutes after the crime was reported—authorities tracked down and arrested the suspect at his residence in Barangay San Roque, Santo Tomas City, Batangas.

Police recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the killings, as well as the bloodstained clothes worn by the suspect during the incident.

A Dark Motive Unveiled
An ongoing investigation reveals a deeply unsettling motive behind the carnage. The suspect, a welder, is the live-in partner of the 35-year-old victim’s sister.

The Angle of Revenge: Investigators are looking into reports that the suspect committed the massacre out of fear of facing criminal charges. The 15-year-old survivor had allegedly been a victim of rape by the suspect in a separate incident. The slain family members were actively preparing to help and support the teenager in filing formal charges against him.
