Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City, Cavite – Nine (9) members of Cavite Police were relieved while under investigation after went viral in social media for the police operation they conducted in Imus City, Cavite on August 7, 2023 with caption “Bahay ng isang retiradong propesora, niransak, ninakawan ng 8 Pulis Imus”.

On August 2, 2023 Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) operatives of Imus CPS conducted anti-illegal drug operation at about 8:10PM at Brgy. Alapan 1-A, Imus City, Cavite that resulted in the arrest of one Street Value Individual (SLI) and her cohort. Recovered from the suspects were the following: six (6) pieces of heat-Sealed Transparent Plastic Sachet containing More or Less 20 grams of white crystalline substance suspected as shabu with DDB value of Php 136,000.00; one (1) piece of pouch color black; and one (1) piece of Php500 peso bill as buy-bust money.

Immediately, after receiving said report PLTCOL MICHAEL D BATOCTOY, Acting Chief of Police of Imus City Police Station informed the Provincial Director about the incident. Thereafter, SDEU team leader/Deputy Chief of Police PMAJ ALEXES TUAZON and eight ( 8 ) others were directed to explain about the incident. Further, PLTCOL BATOCTOY requested for immediate relief of the SDEU team in order not to influence the conduct of investigation. Likewise, PCOL CHRISTOPHER F OLAZO, PD Cavite PPO ordered the re-assignment and temporarily recall of all issued FAs, pending investigation and filing of appropriate administrative and criminal charges to all personnel involved. Said SDEU team was reassigned to Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit (PHAS).

PCOL CHRISTOPHER F OLAZO reiterated the policy on the proper conduct of all police operations and to strictly follow the PNP Operational Procedures (POP) as well as adhere to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

To our Chiefs of Police, let us religiously remind our personnel to refrain from engaging in any illegal activities of whatever forms and we do not tolerate any of these under any circumstances. If warranted, we will file administrative charges against erring PNP personnel who are found guilty of any unlawful acts up to the extent of dismissing them outrightly from the PNP service.
