Sa isang follow-up operation, nahuli ang suspek sa panghoholdap at narekober ang PhP 780,000.00 halaga ng perang ninakaw sa isang feeds dealer sa Cavinti, Laguna noong Huwebes, Agosto 31.
Kinilala ni POLICE COLONEL HAROLD P DEPOSITAR, Officer-in-Charge, Laguna Police Provincial Office, ang suspek na si alyas Joseph, isa umanong AWOL Philippine Army, tubong Samar, at residente ng Cavinti, Laguna.
Ayon kay PMAJ RAMISES L DE CASTRO, Acting Chief of Police, Cavinti Municipal Police Station (MPS), nakatanggap ang Cavinti MPS ng tawag mula sa concerned citizen tungkol sa insidente ng panghoholdap.
Base sa report ng Cavinti MPS, nangyari ang panghoholdap dakong 4:50 ng hapon noong Agosto 31, 2023, sa Garlac Island, Brgy. Bukal, Cavinti, Laguna na kung saan habang ang biktima na isang feeds dealer/supplier at may-ari ng fish pond, ay kasalukuyang nasa kanilang bangka papunta sa Lagpan shore para magbayad ng inorder na feeds ay biglang sumulpot ang suspek, tinutukan ang biktima gamit ang pistol na napag-alamang replica ng .45 calibre ng baril, at sapilitang kinuha ang kanyang perang dala na nagkakahalagang seven hundred eighty thousand pesos (Php 780,000.00) na ipapambayad sana niya sa inorder niyang feeds. Ang asawa ng biktima na nakapansin sa pangyayari ay sinubukang habulin ang suspek ngunit natakot ito dahil sa hawak ng suspek na baril.
Bilang tugon, inatasan ni PMAJ CASTRO ang mga kapulisan na beripikahin ang natanggap na impormasyon.
Nasundan ito ng pagsagawa ng follow-up operation na pinangunahan ni PMSg Nonato R Rotoni, Chief Investigator of Cavinti MPS, na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto ng suspek at pagkarekober ng PhP 780,000.00 cash money sa ganap na 5:30 ng hapon. Nakumpiska din sa suspek ang ginamit na baril (replica) na pareho niyang itinago sa ilalim ng kanyang fish cage matapos isagawa ang krimen.
Ang suspek at ang nakumpiskang replica ng .45 calibre na baril ay nasa kustodiya ng Cavinti MPS habang ang narekober na pera ay ibinalik sa biktima.
Nahaharap ang suspek sa Robbery with Intimidation of Persons upon things at paglabag sa COMELEC gun ban.
Sa kanyang pahayag, “Pinaparangalan ko ang kapulisan ng Cavinti MPS sa mahusay na pagtugon sa kasong ito na nagresulta sa pagkahuli ng suspek at pagkarekober ng pera biktima.”
“Ito ay isang patunay na ang inyong kapulisan ay maasahan sa kahit anong oras o sitwasyon.” Dagdag ni PCOL DEPOSITAR.
