Calamba City Earns Multiple DSWD Honors, Reinforcing Excellence in Social Welfare Services

The City Government of Calamba has once again gained national recognition after receiving multiple awards from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during the prestigious “Panata Ko sa Bayan” Awards, highlighting the city’s continuing commitment to delivering quality social services to its residents.

The recognition underscores Calamba’s sustained efforts in implementing impactful and people-centered programs aimed at improving the welfare of every Calambeño under the leadership of Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal.

Mayor Ross Rizal expressed pride and gratitude over the latest achievement of the city government.

“Isang malaking karangalan para sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Calamba na muling kilalanin ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa ginanap na “Panata Ko sa Bayan” Awards.”

“Ang mga parangal na ito ay patunay ng ating patuloy na pagsisikap na makapaghatid ng mahusay, makatao, at dekalidad na serbisyong panlipunan para sa bawat Calambeño.”This year, the City Government of Calamba received the following distinctions:

• 2025 Model LGU Implementing Day Care Services – Hall of Famer
• 2025 Model LGU Implementing Protective Programs and Services (City Level)
• 2025 Best Implementation of Social Welfare and Development Programs and Services for Youth
• Good Practices in the Implementation of Social Welfare and Development Laws

The awards reflect the city’s strong performance in delivering social welfare initiatives and maintaining programs that prioritize the needs of children, youth, families, and vulnerable sectors in the community.

Mayor Rizal emphasized that the achievement belongs not only to the city government but also to the people and partners who continue to support Calamba’s development efforts.

“Ang pagkilalang ito ay tagumpay ng bawat kawani ng ating pamahalaan, ng ating mga katuwang, at ng bawat Calambeñong patuloy na nagtitiwala sa ating mga programa. Magsisilbi itong inspirasyon upang lalo pa nating pagbutihin ang ating paglilingkod at patuloy na maghatid ng serbisyong may tunay na malasakit.”

The recognition further strengthens Calamba City’s standing as a model local government unit in delivering inclusive and responsive social welfare services, while continuing its mission of improving the lives of its citizens through compassionate governance.
