STA. ROSA CITY, LAGUNA — Arestado ng mga awtoridad ang isang 42-anyos na film director na wanted sa dalawang kaso ng paglabag sa Republic Act 7610 o Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, sa isang shopping mall sa Barangay Tagapo, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
Kinilala sa police report ang suspek sa alyas na “Direk Erol,” may asawa at residente ng Quezon City.
Batay sa ulat ng Laguna Police Provincial Office, dakong alas-8:55 ng umaga noong Agosto 15 nang isagawa ang operasyon laban sa suspek na pinagsanib-puwersa ng mga tauhan ng Laguna Provincial Special Operation Unit, Laguna Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit at Sta. Rosa City Police Station.
Naaresto si “Direk Erol” sa bisa ng dalawang warrant of arrest na inisyu kaugnay ng umano’y paglabag sa Section 5(b) ng RA 7610, isang batas na naglalayong protektahan ang mga bata laban sa pang-aabuso, pagsasamantala at diskriminasyon.
Ang dalawang warrant ay kapwa inilabas ng Regional Trial Court Branch 78, Quezon City, noong Hulyo 8, 2025, na may inirekomendang piyansa na P180,000 para sa bawat kaso.
Matapos ang pagkakaaresto, ipinaalam sa suspek ang kanyang mga karapatan alinsunod sa Konstitusyon, Miranda Rights at Anti-Torture Law.
Kasalukuyang nakapiit ang suspek sa Sta. Rosa Component City Police Station Custodial Facility habang isinasagawa ang kaukulang proseso at pagbabalik ng mga warrant sa korte na naglabas nito.
Pinangunahan nina PSSg Jeffred O. Francisco at PSSg Tomas S. Dalauida, kapwa intelligence operatives ng PDEU, ang operasyon na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa wanted na suspek.
